Easy fix for the test settings issue. Download https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/prototype/1.7.2.0/prototype.js and replace the new script over the old one in this location: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Openfire\plugins\admin\webapp\js".
It took me a few hours to figure this one out. Apparently there is a bug in the version that shipped with installer. Hope it helps with your troubleshooting issues.
